This card represents vacillation of desires—or when the heart encounters choice. Whether it might seem between two good or bad choices impossible to choose between, or a choice that isn’t desired to have to make at all, this card carries the energy that comes with such a feeling. Indecision can be a bad place if it means having to play both sides of the fence emotionally. There is sure to be an inner fission to follow.

Since the Three of Hearts presents us with a choice, a vacillation of desires and tensions in the heart, we can move forward using the teachings of the Rabbit. Rabbits are masters of spontaneous but decisive movement. Their gentle nature means they must make use of the ability to dodge, freeze, burrow or leap at any moment, giving agility a new meaning.

If we face a choice we feel we can’t choose between, or find ourselves stuck between two spaces both requiring attention, than our rabbit friend—bounding through the shadows to come to our aide—can offer a suggestion. Listen to your intuition and leap, without doubt, and commit. You know deep down what is best for you so now you must act! Staying put will only mean increasing the fears and possibility of losing either or both of the two things the heart is stuck between. And a heart can be torn in two directions for only so long before it starts to break. Leap! And trust in your own agility to bound in the best direction.
