This card represents the power of thoughts in manifesting. Thought is a dynamic force, constantly rearranging itself and memorizing new patterns in creation to reuse in its own creative processes. The power of thought is undeniable—once it catches it can create movements, innovation, everything that makes us more than what we thought we were. When this card is drawn, it is a sign to protect your thoughts, because its power can lead you down the wrong or right path depending on who you are and what your needs are.

The Three of Clubs indicates a time when our thoughts are especially influential and powerful, as well as a warning to guard them wisely. Thoughts guide, direct, influence, and create the string that connects the world of unseen potential with the world made manifest. What we surround ourselves with and listen to has much more of an influence on where we are going and who we are becoming than we realize, because the mind and body are very connected and each can follow the other. Thoughts can affect our health, our happiness, and the patterns we pass on to our young.
The remedy is Black Panther medicine. These big cats are solitary creatures that roam mostly alone beyond their life stages in adolescence and in procreation and child-rearing in adulthood. The relationship between the mother cat and her cubs is the longest lived relationship in that particular feline’s life cycle. She is the fiercest mother guardian and protector. She demands we stay true to ourselves. If we don’t honor our true selves, she doesn’t hesitate to abandon her efforts in teaching us, since learning her power is all about empowerment of the individual self.

With her medicine, we can guard our thoughts and nurture them until they are ready for the world or the world is ready for them. Embody her energy, and anytime our thoughts begin to guide us towards a place that is out of sync with who we truly are and what we believe in, imagine her fiercely scolding us like a precious cub. She can help us stay aware and ready to guard against negative doubts, unfair judgements, self-pity, and other forms of energy draining darkness, pouncing on them before they get the chance to take root.
